Food Toy Etiquette

Earlier in the year (around peasch time) we took Buzzy to the beach, he didn't seem overly excited at the time but we assumed that he was to young to enjoy the wonders of the beach and thought he might be more more enthusiastic the next time.
Friday seemed like a good day for going to the beach so Lori&co kidnapped me and we drove out to Ashdod to have some fun. The weather was perfect and the day seemed full of promise, we even found a nice playground on the beach for Buzzy to play in!
Buzzy took a cautionary glance around and put his sunglasses on, so far he wasn't impressed but the rest of us were all smiles so he decided it might be best to play it cool and to wait to see what would happen.
It was on the early side when we got to the beach and the sand wasn't hot yet so Lori and Z put Buzz down to let him explore. Buzzy was a little confused about the weird squishy stuff between his toes but everyone else seemed fine with it so he decided not to complain.
We finally made it over to a nice spot and spread out the blanket, Buzzy was the first one to sit down.
Discovering that sand is crunchy.
Everything seemed to be going well until we tried to put Buzzy's bathing suit on and take him to the water.
It turns out his feelings towards the beach hadn't changed quite as much as we hoped they would, the sand was still sticky and the ocean was as terrifying as ever.
We took him to the little playground and fed him some bamba and tea biscuits which seemed to cheer him up.
Snacks make everything better.
Eventually we ran out of snacks to feed him and had to head home, Lori&co dropped me off and I headed straight for the shower.

Shabbos was really nice, the Freddies came to hang out with us and dinner was as delicious as always. Lori&co walked over Shabbos morning and Lunch was filled with laughter and flying food (courtesy of the babies).
After lunch we hung out in the AC and amused ourselves by running after the little munchkin and her (sometimes) loyal sidekick Buzzy. We talked about many different topics and tried to teach the dog the proper etiquette for eating fake food, he didn't seem overly enthusiastic about the idea of fake treats and spent a majority of the time trying to tip over the snack bowl instead. The dog eventually managed to tip the snack bowl over and seeing as the food was now in his territory he hastily gobbled it up before any of the pesky humans could object. He seemed content to be a part of the fun but when it was made apparent to him that he would not be permitted to eat the cutlery, he decided that he had reached his fun allotment for the day and hurried off to his bed to take a well deserved nap.
Later in the afternoon Lori&co and the Freddies decided to go visit my grandparents, I decided to pass on this weeks venture mainly due to the fact that I was tired and didn't feel like parting from my good friend the AC unit.
After shabbos ended, the Freddies headed home and everyone started getting ready for the busy week that's coming up.
Rosh Hashana is on Wednesday and there's lots to do before it gets here!

A Happy Birthday

Yesterday was my 20th birthday! Congratulations to me for staying alive for so long and a big thank you to my mom giving birth to me in the first place...

I started it off by spending the morning at the beach with some friends. The beach was relativity quiet as most schools started earlier in the week and we managed to score a pretty sweet spot in the shade. We swam with the fishies (who were feeling rather aggressive and kept biting at our ankles) and then lounged in the sun (after putting on lots of sunscreen!) until we got tired and decided to head home.

Back at the sun house my mom was putting meat and chicken up to marinate for my BBQ dinner while Lori was hard at work making me a delicious b-day cake.
Dinner was fit for a king queen, we had meat and chicken shishkabobs, mini burgers, chips and a bottle of my favorite wine. Everyone had a good time and ate until they were stuffed.
The cake that Lori made was equally as delicious as the meal had been, I was so excited to taste it that I dug right in.
After the food and cake had been devoured and the bottle of wine emptied, we said good bye to Lori&co and then I went to sleep feeling lucky to have such an awesome family.

Food Face

The past few days have been pretty fun, aside from the camera drama...
Shabbos was nice but quiet, Friday night we had a relaxing meal and then went to bed feeling quite full.
Lunch was uber quiet, Frank and Timmy slept through it and the Dibble wandered off leaving just me and my parents (we had barbecued london broil and I didn't particularly mind not sharing). Later in the afternoon I wandered over to Lori's side of town and found her in the park with Buzzy. We played for a while and managed not to lose him or have to change his identity which is what I like to call a successful outing.
After shabbos ended Lori and I watched another episode of Gilmore Girls and then I went home.

Sunday morning I caught an early morning train to Petach Tikvah and spent the day with the little munchkin, we played with her new legos and watched lots of Curious George.
This morning Freddie, the little munchkin and I hung out in PT before they dropped me off at the train, I met up with Lori at the Azrieli Mall in Tel Aviv on my way back to Bet Shemesh. We raided Forever21 and H&M and found some nice stuff before heading back to the train station to make our way home.
Our father kindly agreed to pick us up from the train station and Lori decided to stay at our house so that we could continue our Gilmore Girls marathon.
Z and Buzzy came to find us just as we were nearing the end of the season finale (Woohoo!! On to season two!) and decided to crash our dinner.

Tomorrow is my b-day, I'm going to the beach in the morning and then we're having a big BBQ for dinner!
Here's to hoping that I don't get a sunburn! :P

Philafel Balls

Yesterday my father and I went to visit my grandparents, while we were there Lori and Buzzy popped in to say hi. My father helped my grandfather with his computer troubles while Lori and I hung out with my grandmother.
Eating alphabet soup straight from the ladle.
When the computer was running smoothly and Buzzy was getting a little tired, we figured it was probably time to head out. My dad went home but I decided to go to Lori's after I heard that she was making experimental falafel balls.
Philafel Balls
I'll admit that I was a little bit skeptical but my skepticism was short lived as the falafel balls were actually quite tasty. We ate them with chips, israeli salad, pickles and of course chumus, while watching Gilmore Girls (we're almost done with the first season!!!). After the delicious dinner and show I walked home stopping on the way to stick a letter in the mailbox.

Today has been pretty quiet, Frank is starting school tomorrow so we're just hanging out and stuffs.
Maybe tomorrow will be more exciting.. :P

Pesto Anyone?

Shabbos was nice, friday night we had hawaiian chicken (YUMMM) and my mom made a chocolate decadence cake in honor of my Jewday.
Lori&Co came for lunch and stayed for most of the afternoon, we played a thrilling game of phase 10 (which my mother won) and ate lots of cake. After the game was over and we had been invaded by Frank and his groupies, Lori&Co decided that it was time to go and I tagged along with them (I seem to do that a lot..).
We played at the park for a bit and everyone made some new friends, Buzzy even got a new identity when a 5 year old from the neighborhood mistook him for a kid named Noam and tried to convince Lori that she was not his mother. The 5 year old then tried to convince "Noam" to go through the tunnel with him but Buzzy wasn't overly thrilled with the new identity that had been thrust upon him and much to the other kids dismay, he went down the red slide and into the arms of his amused yet slightly perturbed mother.
After the dramatic events at the park Buzzy was feeling rather tired so we headed back to their apartment where Buzzy got a nice bath and then went to bed continued to run around like a lunatic until he got tired enough to go to sleep. In the meantime, shabbos came to an end and Lori and I watched some more Gilmore Girls.

A couple of weeks ago my mother cut off a rather large hunk from our basil plant, we didn't really know what to do with it so we stuck it in a container with some water and then sort of left it alone to do its own thing.
Yes, that is all one piece...
The basil cuttings thrived in their little plastic jail and grew some long roots.
The root of our problems
We didn't want to throw them out so we got some soil and planted them.
So many basils!!!

More basil!!! :O

The one on the left in the green planter is going to Lori and another is for Freddie but the others are currently unspoken for.
If you've ever longed to have your very own basil plant, here's your chance!!
We seem to have plenty to go around... :P

Happy Jewday To Me!

It's my Jewday (aka hebrew birthday) today and so far its been pretty great.
We started the festivities off last night at Lori's apartment with celebratory drinks and a couple of episodes of Gilmore Girls.
This morning my mother made me chocolate chip waffles for breakfast, they were crispy and full of chocolaty goodness.
#deliciousness
Buzzy and Lori came to visit for a bit, we watched Ice Age 3, played with the doug and convinced her to come for lunch tomorrow.
After Lori and Buzzy left my mom and I ran out to the grocery store where I scored not one, but two bottles of my favorite wine!!
I'm pretty excited for dinner tonight, we're having hawaiian chicken and of course a bottle of wine.. Until then we're all working hard to get the house ready for shabbos.
napping is hard work too.
Today was lots of fun but the day is coming to end. Not to worry though, my english birthday is right around the corner!  #11days

Foreign Contaminant

Yesterday started out more or less the same as any other day, I woke up and wandered downstairs in search of food and then my mom and I made breakfast. While we were enjoying our eggs and potatoes my mom suggested that we head out to Bilu (an outdoor shopping mall) to entertain ourselves for the afternoon and as I'm not one to pass up an opportunity to buy new things I hastily agreed before she could try and change her mind.
An hour or so later we arrived at the mall and began our expedition, we got some hiking boots which we found on sale and then wandered around until we came to American Eagle. American Eagle is a nice enough store but I normally only go in to window shop as their prices tend to be a little out of my price range however, this time I noticed that almost everything was on sale and might have gotten a bit carried away.
I ran around the store pulling things off of shelves and out of display cases, when I had so much stuff that I could barely carry it my mother suggested that we head towards the dressing rooms. I slowly but surely made my way through the mound of clothes that I had acquired and ended up with a really cute dress and 3 pairs of pants. After paying for the clothes we headed back to the car and noticed that it was getting late so we decided that it was time to go home.
I went over to Lori's for dinner and we continued our Gilmore Girl marathon, we also made some cookies in between episodes because cookies are delicious and everyone loves them. When we were done eating cookies and watching TV I walked home and went to sleep.

This morning, Lori and Z dropped Buzzy off for a play date so that they could run some errands.
We made (and ate) pancakes, played with power tools and then watched Treasure Planet (one of my all time favorite movies!) and Wall-E. Lori and Z came and picked Buzzy up and then me and my mom went out to do some grocery shopping.
My parents are going out for the evening so it's just me and The Dibble at home for the night, we'll probably have a wild party and wreak havoc on the neighborhood.

Graduation Something-that-ends-in-ation!

Yesterday was Freddie's official graduation ceremony, we were all very excited for her but there were a limited number of seats per students so most of us were not able to attend the event itself.
Those of us not attending the event headed over to Lori's apartment to hangout (aka to babysit for the little munchkin). We played with blocks, stuck stickers on furniture, ate lots of yummy treats, and took some funny pictures.

Last week my mother and I picked a bunch more limes from my grandparents tree, this morning we decided that it was time to get down to business and juice them. It took a majority of our morning but we managed to get over 4 cups of juice into the freezer! (Who's ready for mojitos?)
Later in the afternoon I headed out to Jerusalem to meet up with a couple of friends, we went to Coffee Bean for lunch and ended up staying there for the rest of the afternoon.
When the food had been cleared and the waitress started getting antsy we figured that it was probably time to go so we paid and headed back out into town. We walked around a while longer and then decided that it was time to part ways, I took a light rail to the central bus station and hoped on a bus back home.
So far this week has been pretty awesome, I got to play with the little munchkins yesterday and today I hung out with some of my favorite people! I can't wait to see what the rest of the week brings... :)

R.I.P. Magnum (June 2013-August 2013)

This shabbos we said goodbye to Magnum with heavy hearts and tears in our eyes after an unfortunate incident in which he developed a fatal hairline fracture in his lateral bowl.
He was a good wine glass and will be sorely missed, rest in peace my friend. :(

A Poem For Magnum:
A wine glass is a mans best friend.
Oh magnum, such a bitter end.

Time Flies When You're Procrastinating

Has it been so long already? I would say that the reason that I haven't posted is because I've been super busy but in reality I've just been really lazy.
When I last posted I was eagerly awaiting my manicure appointment, my mom and I picked Lori up at her apartment and headed over to the mall. We got to the nail place and after much deliberation we picked out our colors and then we were handed over to the manicurists. About an hour later we emerged from the nail place with shiny new nails and smiles on our faces. My mom drove Lori back to her apartment where I decided to get out and join Lori for a continuation of our Gilmore Girls marathon.

Thursday was so uneventful that I don't actually remember what happened so I'll just assume that a lot of TV was watched.

Friday afternoon was spent cooking and cleaning, dinner was delicious and I fell into a food coma shortly after its consumption.
Shabbos lunch was equally as tasty as dinner had been, after lunch The Dibble went to a friends house while the rest of us took advantage of the AC. Later in the day when it had cooled down outside I walked over to Lori's apartment in search of fudgesicles (which according to my sources Lori had made on friday afternoon). I knocked on the door and discovered that The Dibble had walked over after meeting up with his friends and that there were indeed fudgesicles to be eaten.
We sat around watching The Dibble play with Buzzy and eating fudgesicles until shabbos ended and it was time to go home.

On sunday my mom and I ran some errands which included dropping my hair off at the post office(don't worry, I put it in an envelope first) and raiding my grandparents lime tree for the next batch of limes.
Look at me, I'm a lime tree!
So many limes!!
On Monday morning I woke up and decided that I would stay in bed all day watching Parks&Rec but then I got out of bed and looked around my room, it sort of looked like it had been through a hurricane of sorts and it smelled a little funny. I considered cleaning my room but quickly dismissed the thought when I realized that it would involve work and would interfere with my original plan of being lazy.
I found some relatively clean smelling clothing to put on and threw some of the less clean smelling ones into the hamper, then I opened the window and sprayed some air freshener before standing back to survey my work. It wasn't perfect but it was better than nothing, so I shrugged my shoulders and climbed into bed to watch TV.
Later that day I went downstairs in search of food only to find a tent at the base of the stairs.

I poked at it a bit until I saw a face in the window and nearly had a heart attack.
The Dibble in his new tent.
It turns out that my brother had found a bunch of gift certificates that he got for his bar mitzvah while he was writing thank you notes and decided that he wanted to use them, so he went to the store and found a tent and a bunch of other cool stuff to buy.

Yesterday I went to the Freddies and hung out with the little munchkin all day, she was adorable (as always) and we had lots of fun! The Freddies had an engagement party to go to and they dropped me off at home on their way there.

This morning I decided that the time had come to clean my room so I put on some music and got started. An hour later things had more or less been returned to their proper places and the room looked nice and clean, I even had enough room on the floor to unroll my yoga mat so I did a quick workout and then jumped into the shower. While I was showering I discovered a new feature on my shower head when the head came off of the pole and hit me in the face. Upon closer inspection it was discovered that the "new feature" was more of a malfunction than a feature and I determined that it may be time to replace it.
After the shower incident, I went downstairs to find some lunch and now I'm sitting here writing this post.
I've pretty much run out of things to say so I think it's time for me to go, hope to see you again soon!
Bye! :)
